IN JUST A FEW WORDS...
Author, Mastermind, Heretic. No matter what I have been doing in my life, be the exemplary student, a management business consultant, a serial (seriously) entrepreneur, a speaker and international professor, writing my books or just simply loving life, falling in love, creating the life that I want with whom I want to create it, I have been connected to at least one of those three volcanoes of my essence: writing, masterminding or being a heretic.
The Daemon that keeps whispering in my ear, says: “Inspire”. I am here to inspire you to the point where you CHALLENGE YOUR BELIEFS. What if what you consider to be true is actually just an opinion, what if you can try having other opinions and beliefs, what if you can explore…
I am here to inspire you… what if you can Challenge Your Beliefs?
Want more juice to the story?
Author, Mastermind, Heretic. I write for passion, I write because words just get piled up in my head and I need to let them out. I am an Industrial Engineer and Harvard MBA by training. I have worked at one of the leading global management consulting firms (McKinsey & Co) and have advised Fortune 500 companies (Microsoft, Starbucks, Pfizer, Boeing, United Nations, AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, Medtronics, Delta, to name a few). I have also own a boutique consulting firm and helped passionate entrepreneurs strategize, plan, raise capital and launch more than 50 companies in the US, the Caribbean and Latin America (always a rush to help create and launch a dream). I have been a part of other entrepreneurial ventures in industries so diverse from each other like telecommunications, internet television, medical tourism, sustainable building materials, education, strategy training, applied nanotechnology, sustainability and environmental management and investment vehicles. I have done businesses small and big, here and there, across three continents. I have left my skin in the game, and pieces of my soul too!
I have also lead, taught and spoke in front of corporate, trade associations and academic audiences (Temple University & Pontificia Universidad Javeriana). Leading, speaking and inspiring always make my heart beat faster.
That’s most of my professional “past life”. Then I graciously retired.
I can’t point my finger to one event… it was just the convolution of many steps along the way. One day, I simply choose to do what I had been expecting to do the day I would finally be a millionaire and retire: I would mainly write, read, be with my family (my partner Juli and our daughter Sofia), travel, learn Italian, learn interesting stuff, eat together, write some more, teach, lead, create, speak to audiences and write (did I mention, write?). I decided I wasn’t going to wait for millions to come anymore…
And here I am.
I am a heretic. What the heck is that?
This is the Merriam-Webster Dictionary Definition of Heresy:
a : adherence to a religious opinion contrary to church dogma
b : denial of a revealed truth by a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church
c : an opinion or doctrine contrary to church dogma
a : dissent or deviation from a dominant theory, opinion, or practice
b : an opinion, doctrine, or practice contrary to the truth or to generally accepted beliefs or standards
I am a heretic on both counts. Even though I don’t focus my writing on religion, most of my ideas tend to challenge established paradigms, just because I firmly believe that what we believe either propels us to happiness or prevents us from feeling it, so, at any point where fulfillment seems absent, I love to accept an invitation to observe the belief, identify the existing paradigm and just challenge it… what if?
What if we were to consider that “our truths” are just “thoughts/opinions/beliefs” and that there are millions of other thoughts/opinions/beliefs out there, just waiting to be tried on.
What if you were to Challenge Your Beliefs!… What if you were going to consider that?
And the consideration itself is a heresy. Hence, I am a heretic.
The question is: are you?
